Letter by Assistant Professor for IMC at Bond University
Christina Wieselthaler requested that I write a letter of recommendation on her behalf. It is my pleasure to do so. Ms Wieselthaler was a postgraduate student in my subject Theoretical Constructs in Communication and she also worked for me as a research assistant on one project. It is in these contexts, and many conversations, that I know her. Over the past 12 months that I have known her, I have developed strong respect for Ms Wieselthaler for three reasons.

Ms Wieselthaler is professional. She is punctual, prepared and alert. Ms Wieselthaler attended every lecture and tutorial scheduled in my classes and was actively involved in lectures and tutorials according to my records. On many occasions, she reiterated and clarified critical points of the lecture or tutorial discussion; her questions and statements were carefully considered and she was ready to voice them. She showed evidence of completing assigned readings and also drew upon her memories of relevant past classes and experiences. She never submitted her work late. More importantly, her submitted work has been finished competently, consistent with the requirements and always worthy of high marks.

Ms Wieselthaler demonstrates creative intellect. Her research skills are well above average in that she searches for, finds and integrates into her work material from a variety of sources. Ms Wieselthaler maintains the highest qualities of intellectual aptitude. She is curious and critical. From the point of view of a lecturer, this is when teaching is stimulating and rewarding.

Ms Wieselthaler is a communicator. She is a thoughtful, energetic and confident person not afraid of engaging fellow students or professors in conversation. She is assertive with ideas, but equally active in listening. It strikes me whenever my students demonstrate both independence and deference for the views of others; Ms Wieselthaler does this with grace.

Needless to say, I am impressed by Ms Wieselthaler’s professional character, intellectual prowess, and communication skills. In summary, it is my pleasure to recommend, without reservation, Ms Wieselthaler.

Sincerely,
